CHARTER

The ibnqonfud calculator is intended for researchers, teachers and students with intensive high performance computing needs. The cluster is permanently available 365 days a year, except for breakdowns or maintenance.

Rules of use and security
  •  Each user undertakes to communicate to the intensive computing unit (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) any change or additional information concerning him (email, laboratory, telephone number, etc.)
  • Each user agrees to protect his account on the computing cluster, it is strongly recommended to change the password assigned when creating the account from the first use. The user is liable for damages that may arise from misuse of his account.
  • Information to users on cluster administration (policy changes, implementation of new services, service interruptions, etc.) is done by means of warning emails (to the email address provided by the user when of his request to create an account).Users undertake to comply with the various directives.
  • It is strictly forbidden to use "pirated" software. Any use of commercial software must be done with the agreement of the administrator, after verification of the validity of the license.
  • To allow a wider sharing of ibnqonfud computer resources, the sum of CPUs used and/or requested (jobs in progress and pending) less than or equal to 48 for each user.

From day month year, the resource limit per user is set at 64 CPUs (jobs pending and running).

  • The management node (ibnqonfud0) should never be used to perform calculations. It is only intended for compiling programs and running jobs using SLURM.
  • The submission of jobs must be done with SLURM, the job manager used. Any job launched without SLURM will be stopped and the user will be subject to the sanctions provided for in this charter.

  • It is recommended that you schedule compute-intensive jobs at night and on weekends, and use the correct partitions for the jobs. There are currently two partitions:

The long partition: r424_long, it contains 28 compute nodes.

The short partition: r424, it contains 4 compute nodes, maximum duration of a job in this partition is 48 hours

  • Any Job lasting more than 40 days will be stopped unless we receive an email explaining the need for it.

Applicable penalties

If a user does not respect the rules of use and security then:

  1. The administrator sends a first warning email in which the user concerned is informed of the type of offense committed and the future sanctions he incurs.
  2. In the event of a recurrence, the user's account is deactivated for 2 weeks.
  3. If a third offense is committed, the user's account is permanently disabled.
