IBNQONFUD

Creation

Ibnqonfud is an Intensive Computing Unit (HPC) of the University 20 Aout1955 Skikda, created in 2017 following the acquisition of a scientific calculator, provided and set up by the French company BULL,

Named on the Algerian savant Ahmed son of Hassen son of Ali El khatib the Constantine, known by the name of Ibn Kounfoud. He is an astronomer, mathematician, physician, and savant of Islamic jurisprudence. He lived between 1339 and 1417

The unit is made available to researchers with hardware and software resources to perform intensive computing requiring significant resources in time, memory, or disk space.

Structure

The Skikda HPC is a cluster of 35 nodes, connected with 02 interconnection networks and shares a common storage space more than their own spaces, the system dedicated and optimized for intensive computing, by adopting the parallel execution of applications user including:

35 Nodes:

01 administration node: master server  BullR425-E3
01 visualisation node: pst processing server Bull R425 E3
01 storage node: storage server Bull R423-E3i
32 compute nodes:grouped into 08 chassis of 04 dual-processor nodes Bullx R424-E3

01 storage bay

02 interconnect networks:first computing network, nodes are connected by a infiniband switch of 36-ports, 40Gb,and second ethernet administration network, nodes connected by a switch of 48-ports, 1Gb.

01 inverter of 20 KVA ,autonomy , 27.4 min to 75% load

01 server cabinet 40U, 19''
